Diamond Air

Today, we know how much our health depends upon the environment where we live and work. The ventilation systems in our homes and our places of business, if not maintained properly, can spread pollens, mold, and dust in the air they circulate. These air contaminants can aggravate allergies and even cause asthma.

We at Diamond Air are dedicated to making sure the environments in your home and business have no such threats to your health, that they are clean and safe. Our trained technicians are specialists in properly maintaining HVAC ventilation systems.

Dryer Vent Cleaning

The electric or gas clothes dryer makes our daily lives so much easier. However, it is easy to forget that drying clothes produces lint. Much of that lint is caught by the dryer’s lint trap. But not all of it. Some get to the vent tubing that carries warm air to the screened vent in the outside wall. That lint, not removed, can build up, creating a place for bacteria and mold to grow, and constituting a fire hazard. It also inhibits airflow, making the dryer work harder, increasing your utility bills.

We recommend cleaning your dryer tubing and vent regularly – typically every six months for a household of four to five people. Having our expert technicians come and clean your dryer vent tubing and wall vent ensures your dryer is working efficiently and any lint fire hazard is all but eliminated.

  •   I recently had some minor issues with my AC at home and Michael H was very helpful. He immediately put me in contact with his manager and they were able to come out the next day. The team is very professional and knowledgeable. After troubleshooting with 2 other AC companies it was a huge relief to deal with a company who is very transparent and not out to gouge you. Thank you for the great service.

Frequently Ask Questions

Should a Dryer Vent Be Professionally Cleaned? 2017-06-30T13:20:37+00:00

Dryer vents should be cleaned regularly because dryer lint is both highly flammable and can exacerbate breathing conditions if it circulates in the home’s airflow. If you notice the dryer isn’t drying clothes as effectively as it used to, or if the outside of the dryer is reaching burning hot temperatures, it is a good sign that the dryer vent needs to be cleaned. For the majority of residential homes, a dryer vent should be cleaned once every year.

How is a Blower Motor Cleaned? 2017-06-30T13:20:02+00:00

The first step to cleaning a blower motor involves shutting off the gas and electricity to the furnace. Once these are off, the motor is removed and the unit is disassembled. This allows the technician to clean debris that is attached to the fan wheel and the housing. In most cases, this can be done using compressed air and a slightly damp cloth. Once the blower motor, fan wheel, and housing are cleaned, the unit is reassembled and tested prior to reinserting it into the furnace.

How Do I Verify the Reputation of the Cleaning Service? 2017-06-30T13:19:03+00:00

It’s a good idea to check the company’s standing with the NADCA and the local Better Business Bureau (BBB). You will also want to see proof that the company is properly licensed and carries the necessary insurance to cover any defects in the work they perform such as duct replacement. Finally, it’s advisable to seek recent references from clients in the community that have used the company’s services.

How Does a Rotobrush Vacuum Work? 2017-06-30T13:18:18+00:00

Diamond Air uses a roto brush vacuum system that dislodges dust and debris from deep within the system. First, the duct system is placed under negative pressure. As the vacuum sucks the air from the ducts, the brush dislodges debris that is attached to the interior surfaces of the duct. This debris gets picked up in the airflow and removed from the system. A Rotobrush helps improve the efficiency of the system and improve the air quality within the home.

Are There Health Benefits to Duct Cleaning & Duct Repair? 2017-06-30T13:02:26+00:00

If you are looking for a better life through the air you breathe, then cleaning your ducts is an essential step. Pollen, dust, pet dander, mold, bacteria, and other air contaminants can collect deep within ductwork and be circulated through the home. Further, duct repair can ensure proper airflow and eliminate points of entry where contaminants can make their way into the system.

What is the Air Scrubber Plus? 2017-06-30T13:20:57+00:00

Air Scrubber Plus pulls in water and oxygen molecules that ionized and released into the home’s atmosphere. These ionized molecules effectively destroy bacteria and viruses in the air. It is also highly effective against odors from pets, VOC’s, and other airborne contaminants that can exacerbate allergies and trigger breathing conditions.

Why AC Coil Cleaning Important? 2017-07-21T19:00:59+00:00

There are two coils within your air conditioner unit. The first is the evaporator coil. These absorb the heat and humidity from the air. The second are the condenser coils. This expels heat outside of the structure. In order for these coils to work properly, they must be clean. If they are not, their ability to perform their functions is diminished which causes the system to work less efficiently.

How Much Does Residential Duct Cleaning Cost? 2017-06-30T13:19:20+00:00

There are many variables that can influence the overall cost of duct cleaning services. These variables include the size of the home, the accessibility of the system, the regional climate, and the amount of contamination within the system. Generally, it can cost between $450 to $1,000 to clean most residential systems. The costs can be higher for commercial systems which are often quite larger and more complex.

Are Antimicrobial Chemicals Effective? 2017-06-30T13:18:33+00:00

Applying antimicrobial chemicals to the interior surfaces of the duct system will kill mold, viruses, and bacteria. In order for them to achieve maximum effectiveness, it’s necessary to thoroughly clean the system prior to application. This is a highly effective solution for homes that have sustained water damage.

How Often Should Ductwork be Cleaned? 2017-06-30T13:04:01+00:00

Generally speaking, every 2-3 years. However, if there is a smoker in the household, pets, or water contamination, it is advisable to do this more frequently. This is especially important if there is anyone in the home that suffers from respiratory conditions such as asthma, emphysema, or allergies. Further, it is advisable to schedule a duct cleaning following any remodeling/renovation projects.
